Whether you’re having your first or third baby, every pregnancy, birth and those months beyond bring new emotions, joy, and challenges.

My North Shore Doula promise to you.

I’m here to help you manage the emotional and physical aspects of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I’m your advocate, helping you to find and trust your intuition while feeling supported and cared for.

North Shore Doula Services.

  • Birth Doula

As your birth doula, I'm here as your companion throughout pregnancy and labour and a complementary part of your birth team.

Together, we build a trusted relationship based on mutual respect and care, and share a common goal—helping you to enjoy the miraculous experience of bringing your baby into this world, no matter how you give birth.

  • Postpartum Doula

As your postpartum doula, I’m here to walk alongside you during the fourth trimester.

I help you navigate the emotional rollercoaster and physical challenges that come with your newest arrival. My role is to ensure you feel seen, cared for, and confident to trust in your intuition as a mother.

How I help.

My role as a doula is to "mother the mother."

That looks like caring for you in a way that you may never have experienced before. If you're used to doing everything yourself, having someone to look after you can feel strange. Many women feel unworthy or guilty about receiving this care.

But you are going through one of the most transformative and demanding times in your life, and you deserve to be held and supported. How you are treated in this period has a long-lasting effect on your mental and physical health.

Emotional support

Emotional support helps you feel seen, heard, and centred in your care. I'm here to listen with empathy to your fears and worries and help you work through them. I offer reassurance that your feelings are normal, along with encouragement and praise that boost your confidence and self-belief throughout your birth, labour, and postpartum period.

Physical & practical support

Physical support helps you feel in control, comforted and confident. During labour and birth, this can positively impact how you perceive pain, empowering you to cope and increasing the likelihood of a birth without intervention. During postpartum, practical support enables you to focus on your healing body, bonding with your new baby, and establishing feeding.

Evidence-based informational support

A good birth doesn’t happen by accident. Informational support helps you feel switched on, confident, and knowledgeable about your body, birth, and rights. Whether it's info about birthing options, models of care, or what to expect in those early months, I provide information based on research and up-to-date best practices so you can navigate this period by making decisions based on facts.

Advocacy

Advocacy support helps you gain what you need from the system while supporting you in your right to make decisions about your body and baby. I'm not here to speak on your behalf, but show you how to be confident in speaking up for yourself, so you get the kind of birth you want and receive the kind of postnatal support you need.

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • A midwife is a trained medical professional who is responsible for your medical care. A doula is a companion who provides emotional, practical and informational support and advocacy. During labour, midwives take care of yours and your babies medical needs. Doulas provide a continuous support role. We offer massage and other techniques to help you manage through your labour, and guide your partner on how they can best support you. We offer encouragement, kind words, and a reassuring presence that makes you feel safe and supported. Midwives may provide advice. Doulas can only provide the full range of information so you can make your own decision.

  • Absolutely! There isn't one right way to birth and all forms of birth are valid and valued and worthy of support and care. I can help you whether you are aiming for a vaginal birth, at home or in the hospital, a VBAC, having a planned C-section or induction.

  • A doula is not there to replace your partner. I am there to facilitate your experience as a couple. Birth can bring you closer together than you ever imagined. During our prenatal meetings, I show you both how your partner can be the primary support person so that they can be fully involved in this miraculous event.

  • A doula is your professional birth and postpartum companion – someone who walks alongside you during one of life's most profound experiences. Unlike your midwife or doctor, who focuses on the medical aspects of your care, a doula is there purely for you (and your birth partner) – for your comfort, your confidence, and your emotional wellbeing.

  • Investing in a doula has a significant positive impact on your health and wellbeing from pregnancy, birth, and beyond. In Sydney, Doula prices can range from under $1000 to over $5000. While it's important to take your budget into consideration, it's most important that you really click with your doula, otherwise you won't get the value from your investment.

  • Complete the form on my home or contact page, and I'll be in touch within 48hrs. Once we've had a quick chat on the phone, we can book in a 1hr complmentary chemistry meeting. We can do this by Zoom or face-to-face and it will include me, you, and your birth support partner. In this meeting, we'll go through my contract (which I send you ahead of time) and talk through any questions you have. After that, we both reflect to see if it feels like we'll be a good fit as a birth team. I always tell people to go with their gut, so usually we'll know straight away if it feels like a good match. If we decided to go ahead, you will need to pay the deposit in order for me to block out my calendar for your EDD.
