North Shore Doula
Care for mothers in birth & postpartum

Two parents holding a newborn baby and looking adoringly at her.

You’ve got your baby.
I’ve got you.

While everyone is focused on your little one, I'm focused on you. You’re the one bringing a whole new human into the world, and that deserves emotional and practical support.

My North Shore Doula promise to you.

I’m here to treat you like the Queen you are. Whether it's your first baby or your third, as a certified doula, I'll give you what you need in the moment, so you feel seen, reassured, and truly honoured.

North Shore Doula Services.

  • Birth Doula

Need someone with a calming presence and a hip squeeze sent from heaven? I'm your woman.

I provide physical and emotional support through pregnancy and labour, so you can be fully present for the miraculous experience of bringing your baby earthside — however that looks for you.

  • Postpartum Doula

Need support from someone that's like your mum, sister, and best friend all rolled into one—without the emotional baggage? That's me.

I help you navigate the beautiful chaos of new motherhood, so you feel nurtured and held, even on the days when nothing goes to plan.

How I help.

My role as a doula is to "mother the mother."

If your go-to phrase is “I’m fine”, and you’re used to doing everything yourself, it can feel strange having someone look after you. You might even feel unworthy or guilty about receiving this care.

But the transformation you’re in right now is bigger than an episode of Queer Eye. It’s life-changing. And how you’re treated during this time has a long-lasting effect on your mental and physical health.

Emotional support

Sometimes you just need someone to say "what you're feeling is completely normal." I'm here to listen without judgment, help you work through fears before they take hold, and remind you (a lot) that you're doing an incredible job. Confidence and self-belief in mothering aren't fixed, they grow, and I'm here to help water those seeds.

Physical & practical support

Birth is physical, and having hands-on support makes a real difference to how you experience it. I help you feel grounded, comfortable, and in control during labour, which can change how you perceive pain and experience birth. If you have a partner, I help them show up for you fully, so they're involved, confident, and not like a deer in headlights. After birth, practical support means you can stop worrying about everything else and focus on what matters: healing, bonding, and feeding.

Know your options

A good birth doesn't happen by accident. It happens when you feel informed and empowered to make decisions. I share real, evidence-based information about your birthing options, your rights, and what to expect, so you feel prepared, not blindsided, and nothing happens without your full understanding.

Advocacy

I won't speak for you (unless you’re in the middle of a contraction and being badgered with questions), but I will make sure you feel good about speaking up for yourself. That means knowing you call the shots, feeling confident asking questions, and not leaving an appointment wondering why you agreed to something you weren't sure about. You deserve a birth that reflects your wishes, and a postpartum experience where your needs are actually met.

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • A midwife is a trained medical professional who is responsible for your medical care. A doula is a companion who provides emotional, practical and informational support and advocacy. During labour, midwives take care of yours and your babies medical needs. Doulas provide a continuous support role. We offer massage and other techniques to help you manage through your labour, and guide your partner on how they can best support you. We offer encouragement, kind words, and a reassuring presence that makes you feel safe and supported. Midwives may provide advice. Doulas can only provide the full range of information so you can make your own decision. Learn more here>

  • Absolutely! There isn't one right way to birth and all forms of birth are valid and valued and worthy of support and care. I can help you whether you are aiming for a vaginal birth, at home or in the hospital, a VBAC, having a planned C-section or induction.

  • A doula is not there to replace your partner. I am there to facilitate your experience as a couple. Birth can bring you closer together than you ever imagined. During our prenatal meetings, I show you both how your partner can be the primary support person so that they can be fully involved in this miraculous event.

  • A doula is your professional birth and postpartum companion – someone who walks alongside you during one of life's most profound experiences. Unlike your midwife or doctor, who focuses on the medical aspects of your care, a doula is there purely for you (and your birth partner) – for your comfort, your confidence, and your emotional wellbeing.

  • Investing in a doula has a significant positive impact on your health and wellbeing from pregnancy, birth, and beyond. In Sydney, Doula prices can range from under $1000 to over $5000. While it's important to take your budget into consideration, it's most important that you really click with your doula, otherwise you won't get the value from your investment.

  • I do sometimes work with women and birthing people outside the North Shore so contact me to see how I can support you.

  • Complete the form on my home or contact page, and I'll be in touch within 48hrs. Once we've had a quick chat on the phone, we can book in a 1hr complementary chemistry meeting. We can do this by Zoom or face-to-face and it will include me, you, and your birth support partner. In this meeting, we'll go through my contract (which I send you ahead of time) and talk through any questions you have. After that, we both reflect to see if it feels like we'll be a good fit as a birth team. I always tell people to go with their gut, so usually we'll know straight away if it feels like a good match. If we decided to go ahead, you will need to pay the deposit in order for me to block out my calendar for your EDD.
